Corresponding Wikipedia article: Nephilim

The Nephilim (fallen) or the "giants" (wrong translation of Hebrew) are very high people, children of “daughters of men” and some “sons of God”. TheRephaims are the nephilims themselves or their ghosts (spirits). The Muslims and the Hindus considered such creatures the demons, the daevas and the Rakshasa respectively. The Norse myths also tell about the giant thurses or jötunns, the enemies of Æsir.

The Titan is an ancient Greek name of a nephilim. Titans are the second generation of gods, the children of Uranus (sky) and Gaia (earth). They were thrown into the Tartarus for their bold manners.

The Akkadians called such people "Ilu" (high) [1]. This word was converted into the Semitic word for God "El", "Eloh” (Hebrew) or "Allah" (Arabic). "Eloh” is used usually in the plural: "Elohim".

The word "nephilim" probably comes from the Egyptian word "neter" (god), which is distorted by Jews in the plural (ending "-im"). The Egyptian gods lived before the flood, which killed the nephilims.

The Jews and the Christians believe that the sons of God, who gave birth to these giants, are the noble and righteous people. Meanwhile, in the Ethiopian Book of Enoch, which is excluded from the Old Testament, these children are represented as the fallen angels, who caused a corruption of people (Genesis 6: 5), about which the Torah and the Bible are silent. The New Testament (which is not accepted by Jews) briefly repeats this story (Jude 1: 6-8).

The reasons for rejection of the Ethiopian Book of Enoch by the Jews and the Christians:

Chapter: verse Text (translated by Richard Laurence) Comment
2:8-12 Then they took wives, each choosing for himself; whom they began to approach, and with whom they cohabited; teaching them sorcery, incantations, and the dividing of roots and trees.

And the women conceiving brought forth giants, whose stature was each three hundred cubits.
When they turned themselves against men, in order to devour them;
these devoured all which the labor of men produced;
until it became impossible to feed them;
and began to injure birds, beasts, reptiles, and fishes, to eat their flesh one after another, and to drink their blood.

Many nations have the myths about the ogres.
8:1 Moreover Azazyel taught men to make swords, knives, shields, breastplates, the fabrication of mirrors, and the workmanship of bracelets and ornaments, the use of paint, the beautifying of the eyebrows, the use of stones of every valuable and select kind, and all sorts of dyes, so that the world became altered. Cosmetics and jewelry came from the Near East.
8:3-7 Amazarak taught all the sorcerers, and dividers of roots; Armers taught the solution of sorcery; Barkayal taught the observers of the stars, Akibeel taught signs; Tamiel taught astronomy; and Asaradel taught the motion of the moon. Astronomy and astrology came from the Near East.
9:7 Samyaza also has taught sorcery, to whom you have given authority over those who are associated with him.
15:8 Now the giants, who have been born of spirit and of flesh, shall be called upon earth evil spirits, and on earth shall be their habitation. Evil spirits shall proceed from their flesh, because they were created from above; from the holy Watchers was their beginning and primary foundation. Evil spirits shall they be upon earth, and the spirits of the wicked shall they be called…
15:9-10 The spirits of the giants shall be like clouds, which shall oppress, corrupt, fall, content, and bruise upon earth. They shall cause lamentation. No food shall they eat; and they shall be thirsty; they shall be concealed…
68:6-7 The name of the third is Gadrel; he discovered every stroke of death to the children of men. He seduced Eve; and discovered to the children of men the instruments of death, the coat of mail, the shield, and the sword for slaughter; every instrument of death to the children of men. Serpent-tempter = fallen angel
68:9-13 The name of the fourth is Penemue; he discovered to the children of men bitterness and sweetness, and pointed out to them every secret of their wisdom. He taught men to understand writing, and the use of ink and paper. Therefore numerous have been those who have gone astray from every period of the world, even to this day.
For men were not born for this, thus with pen and with ink to confirm their faith.
The written word is better suited for a deception than a live spoken word.
68:17 The name of the fifth is Kasyade; he discovered to the children of men every wicked stroke of spirits and of demons. The stroke of the embryo in the womb, to diminish it; the stroke of the spirit by the bite of the serpent, and the stroke which is given in the mid-day by the offspring of the serpent, the name of which is Tabaet.
